Show and Tell:
Chuck B. brought a 4 Star 120 with an O.S. 108 for
power. Smiley brought a large-scale balancer he
built from plans. John L. brought a small P40
“foamie” electric 3-D plane and a large-scale
balancer he bought at a swap.

Computer Radios
Computer radios have become more popular in the
last few years. Below are some affordable
computer radios that are offered.
The Hitec Optic 6 has an 8 model memory and
dual rates, along with sliding switches on the side.
It is also available in a PCM version. The standard
fm radio and 4 standard servos is $209 and the
PCM is $245. You can also get a spectra module
that lets you fly on any channel for $180 with no
servos.
Airtronics VG6000 has a 4 model memory and
dual rates that are on separate switches for the
ailerons and elevator. It is simple to program and
even my Dad learned how to use it. The radio is
$170, which includes 4 standard servos.
Futaba 6EXAS is a 6 model memory with 4
character model naming and dual rates. It is a great
deal at $180 and the PCM version runs $230. I like
it better than the 4EXA because it has dual rates for
about $30 more.

The club dinner is still active, so Chuck B. and I
will have a report at the January Meeting.
Club hats are ordered, with 12 summer gray and 12
tan. They will be coming soon. The price will be
the same as the last time.
January 1, 2006 was ushered in with Lee E., John
L., and Chuck B. flying at the field. Despite the
wind and cold weather they had a great time.
Remember attending meetings and bringing show
and tell earns you points for the end of the year
raffle. We will have fewer prizes, but better ones!
